conscience

By conscience I mean the individual’s moral sense or consciousness of right and wrong; I also use conscience more expansively to mean the entire complex of moral principles, character ethics, and other acculturated social pressures impelling the individual towards what the individual considers right action.

I apply conscience collectively to refer to the group’s sense or consciousness of right and wrong, or the entire complex of moral principles, character ethics, and other acculturated social pressures impelling the group towards what the group considers right action
